Summary –

H.E. Bates (1905-1974)

This story “The Earth” has been written by H.E.Bates. He was a great writer. He wrote many short stories about airmen and their adventures based on his experience in the Royal Air Force.
In this story, he attracted our mind towards Johnson and Benjy. He says about Johnson who is a good farmer. This is a short story of a village of England. He tells about Johnson. He works a plough, two wheel cart. He thinks that everything is useless without the earth. Johnson had only one son. He keeps some hens in the age of more than 30 years. He is fond of hens. He gets many eggs from hens and sells the eggs in the market. He collects a lot of money by selling eggs. Now he has a lot hens. Within one week, he has 100 eggs from them. He sells the eggs door to door. Now he has enough wealth. His parents are very happy to see his hard labour. He increases the business day by day. He wants to live very happy life on the earth. For this he does egg’s businesstruck and deposits some money in the bank. He earns a lot of money by the business of eggs. He makes a good building. He purchases the land from sanders. He also purchases four acre land from whitmore. He marries Florence. Lastly, He forced his parents to leave home.
In this story, the writer tells us that men learn everything by the birth on the earth. No doubt, everything is useless without the earth. Similarly, human life is nothing without wishdom. Thus, human being can do everything and go ahead by wishdom. But it is question “ Why new generation behaves with his parents with cruelity ?”

यह कहानी “द अर्थ” H.E.Bates द्वारा लिखी गई है। वह एक महान लेखक थे। उन्होंने रॉयल एयर फोर्स में अपने अनुभव के आधार पर एयरमैन और उनके कारनामों के बारे में कई छोटी कहानियाँ लिखीं। इस कहानी में, उन्होंने जॉनसन और बेंजी के प्रति हमारा मन आकर्षित किया। वह जॉनसन के बारे में कहते हैं, जो किसान है। यह इंग्लैंड के एक गाँव की एक छोटी कहानी है। वह जॉनसन के बारे में बताता है। वह एक हल, दो पहिया गाड़ी का काम करता है। वह सोचता है कि पृथ्वी के बिना सब कुछ बेकार है। जॉनसन का एक ही बेटा था। वह 30 साल से अधिक की उम्र में कुछ मुर्गियाँ रखता है। वह मुर्गों के शौकीन हैं। वह मुर्गियों से कई अंडे प्राप्त करता है और बाजार में अंडे बेचता है। वह अंडे बेचकर बहुत पैसा इकट्ठा करता है। अब उसके पास बहुत कुछ है। एक सप्ताह के भीतर, उनके पास 100 अंडे हैं। वह अंडों को घर-घर बेचता है। अब उसके पास पर्याप्त संपत्ति है। उसके माता-पिता उसकी मेहनत को देखकर बहुत खुश हैं। वह दिन-प्रतिदिन व्यापार में वृद्धि करता है। वह पृथ्वी पर बहुत खुशहाल जीवन जीना चाहता है। इसके लिए वह अंडे का कारोबार करता है और बैंक में कुछ पैसे जमा करता है। वह अंडों के व्यापार से एक लाख रुपये कमाता है। वह एक अच्छी इमारत बनाता है। वह सैंडर्स से जमीन खरीदता है। वह वाइटमोर से चार एकड़ जमीन भी खरीदता है। वह फ्लोरेंस से शादी करता है। अंत में, उसने अपने माता-पिता को घर छोड़ने के लिए मजबूर किया। इस कहानी में, लेखक हमें बताता है कि पुरुष पृथ्वी पर जन्म से सब कुछ सीखते हैं। कोई शक नहीं, पृथ्वी के बिना सब कुछ बेकार है। इसी तरह, मानव जीवन इच्छा के बिना कुछ भी नहीं है। इस प्रकार, मनुष्य सब कुछ कर सकता है और इच्छा से आगे बढ़ सकता है। लेकिन यह सवाल है कि “नई पीढ़ी अपने माता-पिता के साथ क्रूरता का व्यवहार क्यों करती है?“
