Summary –

Shiga Naoya (1883-1971)

This story has been written by Shiga Naoya. he was a Japanese short story writer of the 20th century.
In this story, he has described an artist Japanese boy whose name is Seibei. He has a hobby for collecting gourds. He buys them for a few sen. When he comes home at first he makes a neat hole at the top of the gouards and extract seeds and fills them with tea leaves to get rid of the bad smell. he is 12 year old still studies at primary school. After class, he wanders the whole town looking for gourds.
He lives in a Harbour town. He knows each place where gourds is sold. He is able to recognize almost every gourds in the market. But his father doesn’t like it. Seibei is much dedicated for his art. But Seibei father want to make his son a learned person. His father doesn’t like his son’s work whatever seibei is doing. Seibei’s father don’t want to listen to any complain of his son. He wants that his son should leave this unwanted work and unwanted things. Once he punishes his son a lot and compels him to leave this art. Actually, he was a very good artist, But he lost his career because of parents and elders. His one gourd is sold in six hundred Yen. This is a didactic story. It gives message that we should give chance to our child according to his talent. Really, seibei is a very good artist.

इस कहानी को शिगा नोया ने लिखा है। वह 20 वीं शताब्दी के एक जापानी लघु कथाकार थे। इस कहानी में, उन्होंने एक कलाकार जापानी लड़के का वर्णन किया है जिसका नाम शेबी है। उसे लौकी इकट्ठा करने का शौक है। वह उन्हें कुछ सेन के लिए खरीदता है। जब वह पहली बार घर आता है तो वह गॉर्ड के शीर्ष पर एक साफ सुथरा छेद बनाता है और बीज निकालता है और खराब गंध से छुटकारा पाने के लिए उन्हें चाय की पत्तियों से भरता है। वह 12 साल का है और अभी भी प्राइमरी स्कूल में पढ़ता है। कक्षा के बाद, वह पूरे शहर में लौकी की तलाश में भटकता है।
वह एक हार्बर शहर में रहते हैं। वह प्रत्येक स्थान को जानता है जहाँ लौकी बेची जाती है। वह बाजार में लगभग हर लौकी को पहचानने में सक्षम है। लेकिन उनके पिता को यह पसंद नहीं था।
सिबई अपनी कला के लिए बहुत समर्पित है। लेकिन सिबई पिता अपने बेटे को एक विद्वान व्यक्ति बनाना चाहते हैं। उनके पिता अपने बेटे के काम को पसंद नहीं करते हैं जो भी seibei करता है। सिबई के पिता अपने बेटे की किसी भी शिकायत को नहीं सुनना चाहते हैं। वह चाहता है कि उसका बेटा यह अवांछित काम और अवांछित चीजें छोड़ दे। एक बार वह अपने बेटे को बहुत सजा देता है और उसे इस कला को छोड़ने के लिए मजबूर करता है। दरअसल, वह बहुत अच्छे कलाकार थे, लेकिन माता-पिता और बड़ों के कारण उन्होंने अपना करियर खो दिया। उसकी एक लौकी छह सौ येन में बेची जाती है। यह एक विचारोत्तेजक कहानी है। यह संदेश देता है कि हमें अपने बच्चे को उसकी प्रतिभा के अनुसार मौका देना चाहिए। सच में, seibei बहुत अच्छा कलाकार हैं।
