Summary –

W.H. Auden (1907-1973)

This poem has been composed by a very great poet WH Auden. He was the poet of high-order. He spent his early life in England. Later in 1939 he settled himself in America. In this poem the poet has described the situation in human life. He also tells about loneliness in which every man lives and dies. The poet says that every time whispering neighour moves left and right. He can pluck our life from real delight. When a person dies then his body freezes. His active hands don’t raise now. In this poem the poet has also describe a forest which is leafless. Trolls are moving and starving. Nightingales are also dumb. The poet compare the life of man to a leafless forest. At last the poet says only water which comes froms the ice of Mountain gives happiness at the time of last distress. It is a Pessimistic poem. It shows the reality of this world. It gives message that “Man is Mortal “.

Summary in Hindi –

इस कविता की रचना एक बहुत बड़े कवि डब्ल्यूएच ओडेन ने की है। वह उच्च-क्रम के कवि थे। उन्होंने अपना प्रारंभिक जीवन इंग्लैंड में बिताया। बाद में 1939 में उन्होंने खुद को अमेरिका में बसाया। इस कविता में कवि ने मानव जीवन की स्थिति का वर्णन किया है। वह अकेलेपन के बारे में भी बताता है जिसमें हर आदमी रहता है और मर जाता है। कवि कहता है कि हर बार फुसफुसाते हुए हिटलर बाएं और दाएं चलता है। वह हमारे जीवन को वास्तविक आनंद से भर सकता है। जब कोई व्यक्ति मरता है तो उसका शरीर जम जाता है। उसके सक्रिय हाथ अब नहीं बढ़ेंगे। इस कविता में कवि ने एक जंगल का भी वर्णन किया है जो पत्ती विहीन है। ट्रोल बढ़ रहे हैं और भूख से मर रहे हैं। नाइटिंगेल भी गूंगे हैं। कवि मनुष्य के जीवन की तुलना एक पत्तीविहीन जंगल से करता है। अंत में कवि कहते हैं कि केवल पानी जो पहाड़ की बर्फ से आता है, अंतिम संकट के समय खुशी देता है। यह एक निराशावादी कविता है। यह इस दुनिया की वास्तविकता को दर्शाता है। यह संदेश देता है कि “मनुष्य नश्वर है“।
